Summer is the season of bare feet and sandals. If it were up to me, I would be barefoot all summer long. Just imagining putting my bare feet in the cool grass is enough to calm my entire nervous system and have me wanting to gaze at the clouds after an afternoon picnic.
Because we are more active on our feet in the summertime, they deserve our love and attention. I’ve crafted this soothing summer foot scrub recipe that you can easily put together one afternoon and slather on your sweet footsies that evening.
The brown sugar and sea salt make for gentle exfoliation, while the aloe vera gel soothes and heals the skin. The lavender and rosemary essential oils have a soothing aroma while also working their anti-bacterial properties to protect your feet for their next summer adventure.
Summer Softening Foot Scrub
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 4 tbsp sea salt
- 3/4 cup aloe vera gel
- 15 drops rosemary essential oil (I like this brand)
- 15 drop lavender essential oil (like this)
Directions:
Mix all ingredients in a large enough bowl, using a spoon to combine. Place in a sealed jar and keep in your bathroom to remind you to use. Will keep for 1 month.
Application:
Rub well all over feet, being sure to massage and thank all 10 of your toes for holding you up and allowing you to go on adventures. Rinse.
I wanna be your best friend! Each time you post something new- it involves an ingredient, recipe, or idea that I have just been thinking about. It’s eerie. And, I have the same mug that you are njoying a cup of tea out of in your video on your homepage. This scrub is delicious in every way . Have an amazing day!
Suzi! Girl, I love it. Matching mugs mean we must be destined friends 😉
Becca’s a fun friend to have. 🙂
Hey Becca, your recipe calls for drops, but the oils sell in ounces. Would a 1/2 oz bottle (their smallest) be enough?
