Another day in January, another detox recipe - am I right?
Well, actually this recently discovered combination of flavors makes for a delicious, savory soup when trying to cleanse the toxins from your system. The avocado and coconut milk make for a thick creamy texture, while the stock, miso, and sea salt give it a great flavor. And it's so simple to make.
But first, let's take a look at each of these ingredients and how they benefit our precious bodies:
Chicken Stock - Excellent source of minerals and nutrients, and will boost immunity in the body.
Avocado - Promotes the release of bile from the gallbladder, allowing for elimination of toxins from the body.
Miso - An enzyme-rich fermented soybean paste that is high in antioxidants and aid in digestion.
Coconut Milk - High in vitamins and minerals like magnesium, selenium, and potassium.
Himalayan Sea Salt - Cleans impurities from the gastrointestinal system.
Miso Avocado Detox Soup
- 1 cup chicken stock (I prefer homemade)
- 1 avocado
- 1 tbsp miso paste
- 1/2c. coconut milk
- Pinch of himalayan sea salt
Combine everything in a high speed blender and blend until smooth. You can serve warm or cold, depending on the temperature of your broth. I prefer it warm.
