Clearly, I'm still on my DIY kick and am back to flirting with skincare. I have sensitive skin that I'm always trying to understand. Why do you react that way? Was it because I ate sugar 3 days ago? Is it a reaction to the green juice detox? Is it my makeup? So, while I'm on this journey of understanding my skin better, I offer you a simple toner recipe to reduce inflammation and brighten up the skin. Witch Hazel neutralizes inflammation while the lemon juice is great for reducing blemishes while brightening up the skin. I find it to be really refreshing after working out or a long bus ride home.

Ingredients
1 lemon, juiced
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. witch hazel
Combine all three ingredients in a glass bottle or sprayer and shake vigorously. Apply to skin after cleansing and before applying moisturizer.
Store in a cool, dark cupboard for up to 3 weeks.

P.S. One of my favorite bloggers, Caitlin from Roost, just did a lovely 2-part series on skincare that I highly recommend. See The Morning Hour and The Evening Swoon.
