Hibiscus Honey Kombucha Jello

Hey there,

creative gal!

You’ve landed on a post I wrote a few years ago -
back when I was known as The Dabblist and was exploring all sorts of ways I could create beautiful things with my hands. It was a powerful time for me — awakening my creativity after suppressing it for so long — but this space has since evolved to reflect the woman I’m becoming.

Hibiscus Honey Kombucha Jello

The exotic hibiscus flower has been calling to me recently. Its deep purple hue, its tangy floral flavor, its ability to support the respiratory and cardiovascular system just by being…

Just a gorgeous, beautiful plant.

So I wanted to combine it with kombucha (the wonderdrink of our time) and make it into a body loving and healing jello snack.

I talked a bit about the magical healing properties of gelatin back when I made herbal jello shots, but allow me to expand a bit more.

Gelatin is in charge of strengthening the body’s connective tissues, helps heal the gut and colon, and is a total natural beauty enhancer (reduces the effects of sun damage, smoothes wrinkles by building new collagen, and adds sheen to your hair. It balances hormones and combats stress too. Seriously, gelatin is a miracle worker.

So combine these four ingredients (hibiscus, honey, kombucha, and gelatin) and you’ve got something really beautiful and sacred for the body.

Hibiscus Honey Kombucha Gelatin

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup kombucha
  • 1 tsp grass-fed gelatin (like this)
  • 2 tsp hibiscus flowers (like these)
  • 1 tbsp raw honey

Pour boiling water over hibiscus flowers and let steep for 15 minutes. Whisk in the gelatin, then add in the honey and kombucha. Pour into little bowl and refrigerate until set.
