Healing Turmeric Latte - Becca Piastrelli

Hey there,

creative gal!

You’ve landed on a post I wrote a few years ago -
back when I was known as The Dabblist and was exploring all sorts of ways I could create beautiful things with my hands. It was a powerful time for me — awakening my creativity after suppressing it for so long — but this space has since evolved to reflect the woman I’m becoming.

Healing Turmeric Latte

It's been raining a lot here over the past week, so I've been in the mood for a warming, delicious beverage. But instead of the usual coffee, tea, or sugary hot chocolate, I've come up with this healing frothy latte incorporating immune boosting turmeric and astragalus root (an ancient chinese root herb often used to improve immune function and increase energy). It's creamy, delicious, and a brilliant way to boost your immune system.

Healing Turmeric Latte

  • 1 c. non-dairy milk (I use homemade almond milk)
  • 1/2 tbsp. turmeric paste*
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1 tsp. raw, organic honey
  • 1 tbsp. organic coconut oil
  • 25 drops Astralagus Root (like this one)

*To make the turmeric paste, mix 1 part hot water with 2 parts turmeric powder and mix into a paste.

Place a small pan over medium heat and add in milk, turmeric paste, cinnamon, ginger, honey and coconut oil. Heat for about 3-5 minutes (do not boil). Remove from heat, and add in Astragalus Root. Place in a blender and blend until frothy.

Drink up!
