Ghee for Digestion

Hey there,

creative gal!

You’ve landed on a post I wrote a few years ago -
back when I was known as The Dabblist and was exploring all sorts of ways I could create beautiful things with my hands. It was a powerful time for me — awakening my creativity after suppressing it for so long — but this space has since evolved to reflect the woman I’m becoming.

I've just discovered the word carminative. It means an herbal preparation that helps improve digestion.

Some examples of carminative spices are: black pepper, sage, peppermint, fennel, cumin, ginger, thyme, saffron, garlic, cinnamon, and basil.

I'm really loving cooking with ghee lately. The nutty flavor really enriches the flavor of the food, and now I've begun combining it with spices. Fennel, coriander, and black papper make a potent carminative herbal trifecta, so I combined them with ghee for a flavorful, aromatic eating experience.

Ghee for Digestion

Grind the fennel, coriander, and black pepper in a coffee grinder and combine with warm ghee. Allow to come to room temperature and settle. Enjoy in your next saute or over warm vegetables.
