Feel Better "Shots"

Hey there,

creative gal!

You’ve landed on a post I wrote a few years ago -
back when I was known as The Dabblist and was exploring all sorts of ways I could create beautiful things with my hands. It was a powerful time for me — awakening my creativity after suppressing it for so long — but this space has since evolved to reflect the woman I’m becoming.

feel better immunity shots

Is it just me, or does everyone seem to be coming down with cold or flu symptoms lately? I'm just getting over the sniffles stuff after a week of living in the fog of my head cold, and did a lot of experimenting with different natural remedies to help ease my symptoms and guide my immune system back into balance.

One such remedy are my homemade "Feel Better Shots." It's a powerful concoction of potent, immune-boosting ingredients that doesn't contain the sugar and preservatives that you'll find in those immune boosting powders (which I used to swear by before I started taking these before getting on a plane).

Here's the ingredient breakdown:

Lemon Juice - Reduces inflammation and fights virus, with nutrients like vitamin C, vitamin A, calcium, potassium, antioxidants, zinc, iron, magnesium, and phosphorous.

Cayenne - Stimulates circulation and blood flow, increasing absorption of nutrients in the body.

Echinacea - Battles virus microbes and purifies the blood.

Ginger - Anti-viral and stimulates blood flow to warm up the body and fight back the virus.

Himalayan Sea Salt - Regulates water content, promotes healthy pH in blood cells, boosts nutrient absorption.

Turmeric - Clears infection and inflammation inside and outside of the body, is a powerful antioxidant.

Feel Better Shots

(Makes 2 shots)

  • Juice of 2 organic lemons
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper (like this)
  • 1/4 tsp echinacea powder (like this)
  • 1 inch fresh ginger (peeled and minced) or ginger powder (like this)
  • 1/8 tsp himalayan sea salt (like this)
  • 1/4 tsp grated fresh turmeric or turmeric powder (like this)

Combine all ingredients in a small glass and mix vigorously with a spoon. Then pour into shot glasses and take immediately.

I like to drink 1 shot in the morning when I'm starting to feel symptoms of a cold coming on.
