Edible Flower Ice Cubes

Hey there,

creative gal!

You’ve landed on a post I wrote a few years ago -
back when I was known as The Dabblist and was exploring all sorts of ways I could create beautiful things with my hands. It was a powerful time for me — awakening my creativity after suppressing it for so long — but this space has since evolved to reflect the woman I’m becoming.

Edible Flower Ice Cubes

Adding flowers to your food feels kind of like magic.

It adds color, flavor, and whimsy to your experience. And there are so many different flowers you can eat - spicy, floral, fragrant, and herbaceous. I like to add flowers to my salads and even to homemade pesto. I’m thinking about pickling nasturtium buds next…

Add edible flowers to ice cubes for a simple, beautiful way to add beauty and whimsy to your hydration.

  • Edible flowers {I used mustard, arugula, and radish blossoms since we are in early springtime}
  • Water
  • Ice Cube Tray

Fill your ice cube tray halfway full with water and freeze.

Once frozen, bring your ice cube tray out and drop the flowers in. Fill with water to the top and freeze again.

If you do it this way, the flowers will float right to the top of the cubes. If you prefer your flowers to be in the center of the cube, place your flowers in the bottom half of the tray, freeze it, and cover with water to freeze again.
