It may be just in my head, but I am starting to feel the first whispers of fall in the air. I think it's the way the light comes through the windows in the morning, it's just different - more orange - more cozy and inviting. It makes me want to bake.
So let's bake some apple chips!
3 Apples (I used the Pink Lady variety)
5 tbsp Brown Sugar
2 tbsp Cinnamon
Preheat oven to 250 F.
Slice the apples very thin. I used a Mandoline, knowing my slicing abilities were unreliable.
Combine the brown sugar and cinnamon in a shallow dish and cover each apple slice before placing upon parchment paper in a cookie sheet.
Bake apples for 2 1/2 hours, flipping them halfway through. The timing depends entirely on your oven, so test the apples from time to time to make sure they aren't burning.
You can eat them whole, or I am considering crumbling them over vanilla ice cream with caramel sauce. YUM!
