Head Clearing Aromatherapy Inhaler - Becca Piastrelli

Hey there,

creative gal!

You’ve landed on a post I wrote a few years ago -
back when I was known as The Dabblist and was exploring all sorts of ways I could create beautiful things with my hands. It was a powerful time for me — awakening my creativity after suppressing it for so long — but this space has since evolved to reflect the woman I’m becoming.

You know that feeling around 3pm - when your head gets foggy, your energy drops, and you reach for the cookie jar/candy bowl/another cup of coffee?

I knew it too -- really well in fact.

My go-to was usually an iced coffee and a chocolate chip cookie. They tasted so good at the time, but usually led to trouble sleeping that night, angry digestion, and bad skin. So I've been on the lookout for other ways to get over that mid-afternoon slump. Sometimes it's a 20 minute walk around my neighborhood or a 45 minute nap. But when I need a quick fix - to get my head clear and focused - I go to aromatherapy.

Aromatherapy Inhaler

This is an aromatherapy inhaler, my friend. Yes, I know it's reminiscent of a tampon but this little sucker is awesome. Small enough to keep in your handbag or desk drawer and powerful enough to flip the switch on my bad mood and get me in the zone. Let me show you how it works.

In a small dish, combine 5-10 drops each of essential oils of your choosing. Each oil has a different effect on your mind, body, and spirit. For head clearing, I used eucalyptus and lavender.

Roll the cotton tube around in the oils to be sure it's fully coated.

Pop the oil-soaked cotton tub in the applicator, screw on the bottom, and pop on the cap. To use, remove the cap and inhale deeply in each nostril.
