The other day, Lauren came over to my side of the Bay and we headed straight to my favorite place to be on a Saturday morning - the farmer's market.
I fell in love with the flowers that day.
While strolling by the vendors and gobbling samples, Lauren (who is 4 months pregnant) started talking about wanting to get more nutrients in her body, in addition to her food-based prenatal vitamins.
I spent the rest of the day doing my best to convince Lauren that juicing would be an excellent way to get nutrient dense vegetables into her body.
Lauren is new to juicing, and had a lot of questions for me. So I took the opportunity to perform a little juice tasting in my kitchen and answer all of her questions.
We grabbed our ingredients, and came straight home to wash and prepare for The Tasting.
We made 3 very basic juice recipes, that I encourage you new juicers out there to make at home as well:
Juice #1
Romaine Lettuce
Apple
Lime
Juice #2 (Lauren's favorite!)
Romaine
Carrot
Lemon
Ginger
Juice #3 (my favorite!)
Romaine
Spinach
Kale
Apple
Stay tuned for Part 2 tomorrow, where I'll answer some of Lauren's FAQs on juicing!
I also really adore the farmers market. Your pics are great! And congrats on juicing. We recently watched a documentary on juicing and got really excited about it and then never got a juicer. hahaha. But I’m fascinated by the whole concept!
Lauren! Celebrity sighting alert on The Dabblist!
Was it Sick, Fat, and Nearly Dead? That doc has got so many of my friends juicing. Hopefully tomorrow’s post will intrigue you even more.
